自小在美國長大的陳國成(DANNY)奪得大學校際拳擊冠軍，一時名噪唐人街，陳國成懷著一顆尋根的心，隻身返回廣東新會。機場外，陳國成錯把晶晶當是剛騙走他手機的女騙子，而跟晶晶的朋友藏龍大打出手，結果被藏龍輕易擊倒，這是他第一次領略到中國功夫的厲害。事後更發現自己所有行李不翼而飛，陳國成一時不知如何是好……
陳國成之父陳皮是玉器商人，亦是蔡李拳館的主辦人，喜聞兒子歸國，忙叫管家藏洞前往接機，藏洞陰差陽錯地把一名叫 DANNY的洋人接回拳館，於是拳館就鬧出了一大堆生活上、文化上、鄉例習俗上以及功夫的笑話……
陳國成身無分文，又累又餓的情況下再次遇到了晶晶，幾經解說下終於真相大白，晶晶在同情心之下將陳國成接回家暫住，經警方的幫助下找回證件，把陳國成送回了拳館，過程中引出兩人之間微妙的感情……
拳館因陳國成的歸來，風雲暗起，管家藏洞早對掌門一位虎視眈眈，如今陳國成的出現即代表著自己願望落空，於是大耍詭計，挑撥各人，另一方面又利用藏龍對晶晶的醋意，三番四次上門挑釁…終引發一場蔡李佛功夫的比賽。
